No, you don't need an extra plugin.  But there is a good chance that you 
could use a newer graphics driver.  If you have a computer running Windows 
(XP or Vista) with Intel graphics, I'd recommend using the chimera daily 
build, <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/alpha-downloads.html>.

If you had reported the bug by clicking on the "Report Bug" button, I 
might have been able to give you a better answer.
