Hi Liane,

  This is almost certainly a graphics driver problem.  Since it happens 
during selection it may be related to the green outline Chimera draws 
around selected objects.  You can try changing the selection 
highlighting to see if that helps.  Use Chimera menu Favorites / 
Preferences, select category Background, and switch "Selection highlight 
method" from outline to fill.  Then try selecting something.  If that 
works you could make that the default by pressing the Save button on the 
preferences pane where you made that change.

  The real fix is to get a graphics driver that works.  You should try 
to update the driver.  We have advice about this on our graphics driver
