You should be able to use the Open dialog in the File menu.  However, if 
you are using Microsoft Windows, chimera has problems with directories 
with Chinese characters in them (as well as file names with such 
characters).  We should have a fix to allow using such directories soon in 
the next Windows snapshot.   We will also work on allowing file name with 
such characters, but that fix will take longer.
