So the short answer is not yet.  We had noticed the problem with RNA, 
where tight turns are more common, and have started working on a solution, 
but it is not done yet.  The smoothing is over 4 residues and can not be 
easily changed.  But we can use different kinds of splines to vary how 
close the ribbon gets to each residue.  And that is the solution we're 
working on.
