Hi Randy,
	There isn't an engine right now, you're right.  The person in charge 
of the archive will be adding a search engine after getting a few other 
things cleared away.

	Chimera installs it's own version of Python within its own hierarchy 
and doesn't touch the system version.  If you deinstall Chimera, its 
Python goes with it -- no fuss, no muss.  Several versions back we 
offered the option of using the system Python, but various 
compatibility headaches made us abandon that option.

So, install away and have fun!
