[chimera-dev] Chimera Plugin Question

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to develop a custom plugin for Chimera that users would be able to download an use? Does Chimera allow this, or must all functionalities in Chimera be designed by the UCSF team? Ideally, this custom plugin would include new buttons to the chimera GUI as well.
