25th Anniversary UNIX® Playing Cards

The year 1994 was the 25th anniversary of UNIX , and as part of the celebrations held during the Summer 1994 USENIX conference in Boston, a commemorative deck of playing cards was created. Each playing card had a picture and the name of a UNIX contributor. The intent was that this be a small way to honor the contributors, including both well known and lesser known UNIX personalities, and it was a fun collector's item for the attendees. Evi Nemeth coordinated the production of the card deck, and a committee consisting of J.R. Oldroyd (it was his idea), Dennis Ritchie, Kirk McKusick, Keith Bostic, and Margo Seltzer nominated people to be included on each card.
